i have to hit it that bit harder than the rest of my keys to get it to work is there anyway i can fix it myself

Keyboards attract all sorts of gunge .Problems of this sort are usually down to something getting down around your keys and interfering with the transmission of the keystroke..Firstly..try turning your keyboard over and gently but firmly tapping it to remove any loose stuff that might be in there.If that doesn't work.disconnect your board..most boards have easily removable bases.Carefully lift off the cover and see if yours is the membrane type, usually a clear plastic membrane fitted under the keys. If you see any sign of dust...crisps..bits of biscuits etc; clean it out and try the board again. If this doesn't do the trick..keyboards are cheap these days ..even the decent ones...so that may be the way to go if this easy fix doesn't work !!

My husband used to get some liquid metal contact stuff that he used to use on old remote controls. Whether that is still available or whether it would be any good, I'm sorry, but I don't know. A quick phone call to your nearest electrical repair shop or computer repair shop should answer some of the question.

Buy a new keyboard, they range from like $15 - $100.

Go to Radio Shack and buy a can of spray cleaner.

If that don't work buy a new one.

if one of your keys is bad that means the others won't be far behind it.

new keyboards are cheap. get one

Try to take it off and then put it back on.
