I had not heard anything about it, but it could be able to help her to deal with this awful tragedy. I wish her all the luck, and I might even try to catch the show to see what it would be all about... I can not imagine that it will be anything like what her dad did, but it will be something with just as much love for the animals...

I think that it is a wonderful way to carry on her father's legacy of animal preservation and education. She has been taught from a very young age to love and respect the animals. Her father loved what he did and he was also taught the same things at a young age. I think that Bindi is very informed on the dangers of trying to help the animals and I don't think that her mom or anybody else is going to let her do anything that she is uncomfortable doing. But look at what she would be able to accomplish in the life that she will live. She is cut from the same cloth as her dad was and will most likely be a thrill seeker just as he was. If anybody saw the tribute show for Steve Irwin, and witnessed Bindi talking about her dad and how proud she is of him and then how she spoke of continuing his legacy of protecting animals, then you would see it is probably inevitable that she will continue her father's journey. Steve loved doing what he did so it isn't unrealistic to believe that his daughter will likely do the same. I think that it is great that she is as involved as she is in "the family business".....for her grieving process as well as to keep her dad's memory alive.

Personally, I think she's more mature than people give her credit for. My first concern when I heard this was that they were forcing her into it because this had been planned since before Steve's passing. But from what I've been hearing, it's something that she wants to do, to honor her father's memory and continue his legacy, and because it's something that she truly loves.

And in that case, Bless her heart. I wish her nothing but the best, and am thrilled, moved, and touched that she wants to honor her father in such a way.

And for all those folks who are saying "She's too young to wrestle a croc" - do you HONESTLY think that's what her show is going to be about?! To quote Steve: CRIKEY! That would put the child activist groups into a tizzy now, wouldn't it?! I say don't judge the show until you see it - my opinion is that it's going to be a much tamer version of Steve's show, the only interactions with animals will be with the "gentler" species, or the babies of the species (i.e., baby lion cubs or something like that) or situations where she is with a more trained and experienced animal handler.

But again - we'll see when the show starts airing, right? Until then, please folks: Reserve judgement until you've actually got something to judge. :o)

I saw a clip of her on the news and she does have a natural TV presence about her, if a little quirky. I think if that's what she wants to do then it's nice to follow in her father's footsteps and honor him, because although he was insane, he genuinely did do alot of good work for animals. With the family owning their own zoo can you really see Bindi going into some mainstream office job?!
I only hope that she isn't being pushed into it and cashed in on, just because they can take advantage of the fact that she is young. But I also hope that it helps her deal with her grief about her father and I wish her success...she really is a cutie!

Bindi is obviously exactly like Steve. She loves animals and nature and has a huge stage presence. She has a magnetic personality and will be a positive role model for the children who loved Steve and will continue his dream. God bless her!

I think it is wonderful. I have an eight year old Grandson, and I know he is mature enough to accept death (his grandpa) and decide for himself what he wants out of life.

I have seen both my sons enter the so-called entertainment industry, one as an actor, the other a dancer. The youngest one appeared in the Nutcracker with a major company at the age of 8.

well bindi and steve were going to do it together and it is really sweet of her to finish it despite her father's death but i think its a little soon she should slow down and plus bindi is a little kid an eigh year old cant handle it she should wait a while and see if she wants to do this as a career and for what reason: for herself or for her dad?

I completely support her to continue the legacy. She will have changes and probably take less risks than Steve did, for obvious reasons, but both their works are for education and animal rights. Good luck to her, a step like that will help her heal.

On the one hand, it may help her work through losing her father, but on the other hand, I think they are making her grow up too fast. She appears to be a very smart child. So, I guess you can say I am kind of on the fence about this one, not knowing the child personally.
