I do it quite a lot, in fact every now and then. And the reason behind that is my passion and keen interest to learn and speak the language properly. I really don't find very comfortable correcting other people's mistakes when they mispronounce except friends and near ones.
But inspiring and grooming someone to speak the correct way is not something i enjoy but also find it very honorable particularly with children, young ones or with people who are as keen as i am to speak the language properly.

Only if I don't understand what they're trying to say. If I get the meaning then I don't see any reason to be rude and correct people. I do it with children but not with adults. You get some really nasty looks when you do that to people.

It depends on the situation. I will not embarrass someone, but I will do so if I feel they have a good sense of humor. It does always bug me a little bit, but makes me kinda chuckle to myself even more.
