Windows Xp is the operating system used on computer that are NOT Apple computers. Unless you have one of the new Apples with an Intel processor that just came out six months ago, and you want ot install a boot program, you can NOT run Windows XP on an Apple. Sorry. Plus it is not a free program. Cost about $150 to purchase.
In the future when buying software you will want to be sure that the software is Apple compatible. Only about 5% of software made will run on an Apple. The rest is for non-Apple Windows PCs.

Apple is usually a MacIntosh computer operating system. I don't think that a windows environment (operating system) would run properly on your Mac. Take the game back and look for one that runs on MacIntosh. Any sales clerk at the store would be happy to assist you. If you have to keep the game, give Dell a call. For around $1 per day, you can lease a Microsoft XP system.
