Please don't name your child Madison. It is the name of many streets, counties, towns, and most notably one of our MALE presidents. It is such a masculine sounding name... and it sounds so contrived and is ugly. Somehow it has gained so much popularity such that it is one of the most popular girls names these days... so you might think about how many other Madisons there would be in your kid's class.
Anyway, I just hate this name and don't understand why it is so popular lately. I think it has to do with people from our generation watching the movie Splash, though I could be wrong.

My cousin named her daughter Madison Dawn and I know another one named Madison Donna.

I was going to name my daughter Madison Ashlyn, or Madison Paige, but we went with Ashlyn Madison.
