Diaper rash is preventable. All you have to do is change the diapers evrey three to four hours for newborns and a little less for older babies. I have four children and did not have to use diaper rash cream. Some babies skin my be more sensitive than others and some parents don't change diapers often enough.

I do put cream on her bottom after every diaper change. However some kids poo or pee is more acidic than others depending on their diet. Even for the slightest moment that the feces or pee touches their skin they have a reaction. Be lucky your baby's butt isnt so sensitive!

You don't have to use diaper rash cream. You can use just Vasiline. The diaper rash cream didn't work for me, but I'm glad that it works for you.

My doctor recommended I not use wipes unless my daughter pooed. He also said to let her air dry for a while before or after a bath. I had no problems after that.

My daughter had irritation problems with wipes and cream seemed to make it worse.
