Has anyone used the Hyper-Scan Video Game system from Mattel?

Question

I have heard it is a hybrid of a card-collecting game and a video game system, but not much more than this. Apparently the character data is on the cards, while the game data is on the machine, and the machine plugs into your TV....

Anyone tried this system? Is it any good?

The system is only a couple of months old, at least in the US....it's been in use for a bit in Japan, where it's been a bit successful. I heard in _Tips and Tricks_ a month or so ago that it was coming to the states.
