Netflix for books- booksfree.com?

I am looking for something that is like Netflix for books. Any suggestions? I have heard of booksfree.com but dont know if it is any good.

Try the local library. Our library is on the web, so I can look a book up, reserve it, and they send me an e-mail notification that the book is at the branch. I have to pick it up and return it, of course.

Isn't this essentially what public libraries have been doing for years? I realize that popular new titles are hard to find in some libraries and that they won't mail them to your house, but these are pretty minor inconveniences in my view.

Project Gutenberg has many classics but does not carry any new titles.
