Why are gods and goddesses in artwork depicted as "scary" but not thought of?

long long ago, there were Raakshas who used to do very hard thapasiyas to please the God, Goddess to get whatever they want and our God, Goddess fall for them easily. then all God, Goddess had a meeting and decided to change their look very hard and scary so that the Raakshas can have some fear approaching them. Thereafter the trend is still carrying on.

The form of Supreme personality of Godhead is very beautiful to the devotees. Even the demigods have Beautiful forms.
But some time the angry mood of the Personality, especially when they are killing the demon, is depicted... Still for the devotee such form is not scary but rather pleasing....

The example of Cat is given to explain this. The Cat when it Hunts the rats, it catches them with her mouth and the mouth of the Cat is very fearful to the Rats.. And when the cat is transporting her kittens, she carries them in her same mouth... But that mouth is not Scary for the kittens, but rather an expression of love.

GODS and GODDESSES have no shape or size.
shapes and figures are makings of mankind to suit their taste and conviction.
they are depicted as scary to create a fear in humans .
but all GODS are so kind, they should never be art worked so.

It's to depict duality, both male and female aspect of faith.
