Calculate the pH of the solution below. Show chemical equations for all equlibria involved. Include complete dissociations whenever necessary.

0.55M ammonium choride and 0.80 M ammonia.

okay I had a Pkb of 4.76, I changed this to Kb = 1.7 x 10^-5

NH4CL ---H20---> NH4+ Cl-

all of these are .55M

NH3+H20<--> NH4+ + OH-

okay I have the Molarity of NH4+ and NH3 now

the ICE method gives an equation of (0.55+x)(x)/(0.80-x)=
1.7x10^-5

x= 2.5x10^-5 = [OH-]
change to pOH by -log = 4.60 pOH 14-4.60 = 9.40 = PH

so pH = 9.40
