I bought my girlfriend a ring, but I've hesistated to give it to her. We're both graduate students and have been under a lot of stress. Not to mention my family has nearly cut me off, and her family doesn't acknowledge me to their friends and loved ones. This plays into my emotions, of course. I wonder if my hesitancy is related to all these stressors, or if its a sign of some deeper dissatisfaction. Could the fact that I second guess and question things be a sign of something I should pay more attention to? Should I wait until the stress eases up?? Any opinions??

Well, self doubt is very popular when deciding to make things in your relationship official... some say its just stress...cold feet...and others believe there is an underlined meaning to this. To me it depends on the situation... so i would suggest to you ...for you to probably wait for some of the stress to ease off. right now sounds really stressfull, and as happy as the two of you might be with a ring involved...the happiness wares off and even more stress will evolve... so yes i would definately suggest waiting until your stresses right now ease up.

plus, the more stress involved with the two of you will help you confirm if shes the right one for you, if yall together handle things well and can still stay strong then she just might be a keeper! as awful as stress may seem, it helps weave out the ones right for people. If yall handle it together and get through it together and come out strong then its most likely a good relationship!!! so keep that in mind when you start to doubt the both of you.
