I'm looking for a bunny that will not grow too big. Someone told me that the Netherland Dwarf is one breed that doesn't grow too big. Could anyone clarify how I could purchase one and know that it is purebred and won't grow too big? Also where i could purchase one in the Los Angeles, California Area? Any more information would be appreciated. Thanks

Before you go to a breeder, why not consider adopting? there are so many rabbits in shelters that need a good home and you can find dwarf bunnies too. Many bunnies at a rescue are a little older so you'll know how big they'll get and most are already neutered or spayed, which is a big plus for you and healthier for the bunny
Here is a link that will point you to many shelters:

You also might want to do some research about bunnies so you are prepared when you bring home the bunny. They are wonderful pets, funny, loving, with tons of personality, but like any pet they require time and attention.
This site has plenty of good information about bunnies:

Don't follow the first poster's advice. If you want to make certain a rabbit is a purebred, the only way to do so is to seek out a reputable breeder. Below is the list from the American Netherland Dwarf Rabbit Club for California. Contact one and ask for the name of one in your area. They should be able to tell you exactly who they would recommend. PS...the person who told you this was correct. Netherland Dwarfs typically do not weigh more than 2 or 3 pounds as adults.

You should get over your fixation on "small". Small or dwarf bunnies have the most difficult personalities much like the smaller breeds of dogs. Go to a humane society and take a good look at and meet a lot of bunnies. You will make the right emotional connection with one if you stay open to the interactions between you and the bunny and not look for a particular size, color or breed.

The netherland dwarf will only get to be about three pounds but if you really want a little rabbit try going with the Britiania Petite which only gets to be about two pounds... There are breeders of both breeds every where try getting onto the ARBA website to find one in your area

There is a great site that list all the Rabbit and Cavy breeders. You can search the site for breeders in you local area. You can also attend a local rabbit show they may have some for sell there. Also you can go to the ARBA site, it has a list of all breeds, information and photos about all pure breed rabbits. All pure breed rabbits come with pedigrees. Good Luck !
