I just got this plant last week, someone at my work was getting rid of it so I took it home. It is a beautifull plant, and healthy too, is there any good care tips (besides the usual watering and sunlight) so it stays that way? I would really appreciate it, thanks in advance.

You have one of my favorite plants, even though I grow thousands every year professionally we do not grow the Rex begonias. So in one of my plant books it says that the Rex begonia was found growing with a potted orchid imported into England in 1856. OK, The grow best in indirect or curtain filtered suulight, in winter they need at least 4 or more hours a day of direct sunlight[on the floor in front of a window] or if you use artificial light at least 400 foot candles. Night temperatures of 60 to 65 degrees and day of 70 to 75 degrees Cannot tolerate wetness, so keep barely moist. Fertilize well established plants at two month intervals from midwinter until late fall with standard house plant fertilizer diluted to half the minimum strength recommended. Over watering these begonia is asking for a dead begonia, stay on the dry side, you will know when to water, if the leave feel soft to the touch and not subtle anymore. Good luck Happy Growing!!

Only one tip - don't over water it. Don't forget to fertilise with a slow release fertiliser.
