I have been told my grandfather was full blooded Cherokee Indian and that is important to me and would like to be able to send this down to my grandkids.

You have to go through the Cherokee tribe to do this. You won't be recognized without their help.

*If you can do a genealogy search going back to them it would solve your problem after all just going back to your grandfather is not very far just ask your parents about thier parents.*
