Yes. The Bible says " resist the Devil and he will flee you" Thats pretty good advice. It doesn't take long for an urge that is resisted to go away. Millions of people a year quit smoking permenantly . Its the same thing. and smoking is more addictive than heroin and cocaine. So if you resist the urges , eventually they will go away.

I don't think you will succeed if you don't have a reasoning behind it. I suppress them because I think 1) jesus warns us about being homosexual (through paul, paul has his teachings from jesus)
2) the baghavad ghita says you will get another demonic reincarnation if you act homosexually (demonically) in this life, and I dont want that
3) the bibel in general says that you won't go to heaven if you're homosexual, and I dont want to lose my place in heaven beause of having been homosexual
4) I also think being homosexual is not right, for me as a woman to "love" women...I am a woman myself....
anyway, I think I do not fight against homosexuality in the first place, but I have adapted another form of thinking. Rejecting my homosexuality is just a byproduct of this new way of thinking. You know what I mean...Homosexuality is not in the focus of my attention, my mental health is. I do it for myself and for my health and soul and spirit.
I stopped smoking recently. To reject my urge for smoking is not in the center of attention. My health is in the center of attention. What I gain is the center of attention. The things that are better than before are important.
So I say yes they will naturally go away.

Repressed thoughts always come back. Enjoy the thoughts and eventually they will leave you because you will be sick of thinking about it.

Mine never did. Think of it this way. I have brown eyes. My wife has sky blue eyes. No matter how hard I pray to have eyes as beautiful as hers, I'll never get them. God chose specifically how I should be. You can't change who you are. Contacts don't count.
