To be one's own god, one has to have the capacity to worship oneself. A robot, having no sentience, cannot worship; therefore, the answer to the second part of your question is no.
However, the answer to the first part of your question is a little more complicated and depends largely on semantics and speculation. If you mean "take over the world" as in some kind of science fiction plot involving the eradication or enslavement of humanity, I would have to say "unlikely".
Man is too egotistical to allow another force within his control to challenge his perceived reign on Earth; but in a broader sense, robots have already begun to take over the world, merely by their presence and level of function in society. Someday, I believe we will hardly know how to live without them.

It's a possibility. I don't think it will happen in the next three decades though. The real question is will we survive our selves long enough to create these robots. There have been lots of movies about simular situations. Termanator (not religious), Irobot, the matrix, and many others. Their are also some great tv shows about this, Battlestar Galactica(old one wasn't religious but the new one is) and some others. With the way technology has advanced in the last 60 years you can bet that we will start making some real advance ments in AI. Well lets all start getting our weapons ready for that day and pray that we all survive.

Probably not the next three decades. In fact if they are built with appropriate safeguards, probably never.
However you might want to do some reading on Von Neumann machines. He was the scientist who envisioned robots being designed with a bit of autonomy and the ability to reproduce to achieve long-term goals out in space (for instance mining Europa and trasporting the ice to Mars over a period of several hundred years).

My company builds robots for various markets. Specially for military and space. Robots can not think or feel. They just run the programs (series of instructions). We have some robots who can play chess, cards, etc. But when it is time to play black jack, or rolete, they are soooooooooooo stupid. They can not think!
They can learn some things and perform the same task over and over specially in dengerous environments. Do not worry abou it. Some day they can probably cook and clean a house. That is probably the maximum function and their abilities. They will cost over a $1 Million!

They may take over the world, but won't be particularly religious. Not in the next three decades, though. Maybe in the next hundred years.

The chances of that happening are the same as the chance of having 'Night Of The Living Dead' zombies running around the place.
Zombies wouldn't even be able to move because their muscles would have rotted away or they would be atrophied. (Mr. Romero obviously never thought about that.)
So I would say the chances are nil.

Hate to say it but when robots take over (when, NOT if) there will not be a god except greed.

No the robots can never take over. Can you ever imagine your computer running without you operating it?

I can see robots and humans becoming one in the same. Once we can start upgrading our minds and bodies, than what really will make us different?
