If someone had 'funny' ears or their fingers where short and stubby or it looked like their tongue was too big for their mouth, how wold you treat them? As intecllectually disabled because of their physical characteristics?

It can be almost impossible not to treat certain people differently. Not because of small disfigurations, or speech impediments. Not a problem, but suppose you are sitting next to a stranger who suddenly swears at you very loudly, or takes some article of yours and stamps on it. Just ordinary folk who have a mental problem perhaps, but you WILL treat them quite differently.
And if they are twins joined at the middle, you cannot possibly avoid your change in behaviour or body language. But, you never have to treat them as "intellectually disabled"

Thankfully not everyone looks alike. We all have different gene pools, cultures, and physical features. One cannot judge the book by the cover. Man looks on the outside, but God looks on the heart. I have always said that it is no special thing if you love the unlovely. If, however, you have a genuine love and compassion, GOD will enable you to love everyone. Some physically unatttractive people have more intellect in their pinky toe than the mocker. Hope this helps.

I think you would treat them like dignified and respectable human beings. Anyone who suffers from some kind of ailment or disability will tell you that the only thing they want from society is to be treated like a person.....not like someone with a disability. There is no need to be extra careful or sensitive......just be yourself, and treat them as you would anyone else you would consider "normal".
Best of luck!

Everyone has at least one charictoristic that looks "funny" (i quess)

it just shows uniquness. I am extreemly short, and don't you think people crack jokes, so I just joke back. I could go through my whole list of friends and I could match up every characteristic you mentioned, but they all are my FRIENDS.

The toung one though, how do you think I chose my boyfriend, hehe j/k :)
You should add to your question though: if all this doesn't matter on choosing friends, why should race and religion differences matter?

What a boring world this would be if we all looked, walked, and talked the same. Never judge a book by it's cover. What's on the inside just might surprise you.

I wouldn't treat them differently than anyone else. All people deserve respect, even those who don't measure up to society's standard of beauty.

How would you like to be treated, if this were you? My answer is to treat them like any other person, they are human.
You should respect them as you know we all are not made perfect.

We all looked different.
Thank God we aren't a bunch of clones.
Looking like cows in a pasture or trees in a forest.
