I would also welcome reasons why Lister, Jenner and Simpson didn't make the most impact as it is difficult to find reasons why these great men were bad.

Louis Pasteur (December 27, 1822 – September 28, 1895) was a French microbiologist and chemist. He is best known for demonstrating how to prevent milk and wine from going sour, which came to be called pasteurization. His experiments confirmed the germ theory of disease, and he created the first vaccine for rabies. He became one of the founders of bacteriology, the other major figure being Robert Koch. He also made many discoveries in the field of chemistry, most notably the asymmetry of crystals.

Sorry to break it to you, but in a debate the only way to succeed is to KNOW YOUR ENEMY - you are going to need to know exactly what impact all 4 of them had, so that you can think of an argument why Pasteur was better.
As for impact, think about the long-term and short-term effects of his discoveries, how many people have been helped, whether his discoveries allowed others to make further discoveries (you could suggest some types of treatment we use today that wouldn't have been possible without Pasteur's work) and other work that sprang from his ideas.
Best of luck, try www.wikipedia.com for brief, easy-to-understand info on Pasteur etc.

Pasteur invented pasteurization which keeps us from getting sick when we eat food. That kept a lot of folks from dying back when they didn't have medicine to treat these problems.

According to my mother, before the pasteurisation of milk (all down to Pasteur - see Karen J's answer), the biggest killer of children and infants was TB.
And sterilising the milk people drank whopped TB big time!! So if we have one thing to thank him for, it was that.

well obviously pastuerization allowed foods such as milk and beer to be kept for much longer periods, and at the time its germ killing effectiveness without necessarily breaking down the nutrient value allowed us to become healthier, and economically it had a great impact as well. hope this was short enough

Do your OWN homework, lazy one! You have access to the Internet so get off your lazy behind and find out the answer to your questions! I am always amazed at the nincompoops here who do other people's homework for them, and then turn around and say they enjoy doing it because they learn something. Oh come on, people, you can learn things on YOUR OWN, without aiding and abetting these lazy teens who can't get their fat butts off the sofa to do anything more than reach for the remote!
