Who knows your operation better than your employees.
If feasible, arrange a one day meeting (preferably Monday) of all employees to get their input on the essential elements of the operation: means and methods of production, work flow, equipment (needed and not needed), quality, safety, raw materials, packaging and transportation, and the like.
If the workforce is too big (over 75), hold separate "break out" sessions, focusing on the practical and timely topics (by department, operation, section, etc). If a number of seasons are required be sure to have someone facilitate the sessions, helping to keep focused, but not ushering the group toward particular conclusions. At the end of the day, consensus should be achieved on the best practices.
Results of the meeting should be posted and used as Critical Success Factors, for improved efficiency and productivity. Follow up meeting to be held after 3 months to review results and develop/ incorporate adjustments as needed.

Without knowing much about details I can tell you in general whatever business you are in in order to improve productivity you have to eliminate waste. By waste I mean whatever that does not add value to your product you need to eliminate. Value is defined whatever your customer is willing to pay to achieve the final product. We call this Value Stream Mapping VSM in short.
For more info go to this site http://www.strategosinc.com/value_stream_mapping1.htm
Good luck

What makes you think you need to improve production? In other words, is there a specific problem you are trying to solve?

Without knowing what you make, it is difficult to make any suggestions.
Standardize all processes.
If you make things by hand, then use jigs instead.
