Horcruxes CAN be made with living things, but Dumbledore said that he didn't think that it was *wise* to do so. Which, I think is for obvious reasons; the point of a Horcrux is to protect a piece of your soul, so you shouldn't chose an object that is easily damaged and anything that is living runs the risk of dying (a corpse wouldn't be a good container for something so valuable). Also, I think that Voldemort has made it really clear that he believes that he is the greatest wizard of all time - he'd chose objects that would encourage his legend and what could be better to do that with than relics of the four founders of Hogwarts? Here is the list of Horcruxes (as I see it) and support for each choice.
1. Tom M. Riddle's Diary; this was probably his first Horcrux, which would explain why it was doesn't exactly fit the pattern of the others. It wasn't only intended as a traditional Horcrux (only to serve as a container) but was also meant to be used as a weapon, which is why it was destroyed. It also established the fact that he is the Heir of Slytherin, back in touch with the pattern.
2. Slytherin's Ring; he knew that it had been worn by his grandfather and namesake, as well as a relic of Slytherin.
3. Slytherin's Locket; he knew it was worn by his mother and was a relic of Slytherin.
4. Hufflepuff's Cup; it was a relic of Hufflepuff and had powers of its own (according to Hepzibah Smith, owner).
5. Ravenclaw's Tiara; seen in the Room of Requirement, when Harry was hiding the Half-Blood Prince's potions book. Ravenclaw is credited for designing the ever changing floor plan at Hogwarts, so she'd know about the room, few knows about. Tom Riddle could've discovered it as Head Boy and hid it then, or years later when he returned to Hogwarts to apply for the DADA job.
6. Gryffindor relic; yet unknown object, probably taken to Godric's Hollow to be made into a Horcrux with the murder of Harry Potter (Voldemort used significant deaths). Pettigrew hid it, along with his wand, and returned them both to him in Goblet of Fire. Voldemort could've created this final Horcrux with the murder of Ministry worker Bertha Jorkins or Muggle Frank Bryce. If he used Frank's, then it is probably in the old Riddle House since he was the groundskeeper there and it is a connection to his hated Muggle Riddle relatives.
I think George Weasley will be killed. Arthur, Ron and Ginny have nearly been killed already, Bill was seriously injured, we don't know Charlie well enough to miss him, we don't like Percy enough to miss him, and Fred is the more prominant of the Twins. We like them as a pair, so we'd miss George, but if he was killed it would make things interesting. Fred would go nuts without George to talk him out of things. In Order of the Phoenix, the Twins didn't care about the Order when Arthur was attacked. But this would make Fred be dedicated to the Order. And, I think there was fore-shadowing for this with Molly's boggart. There are too many Weasley's to expect them all to survive, plus they are targets as "blood-traitors."
I also think that Lucius Malfoy will be killed. He is too evil to want to try for redemption and too important not to deal with. Voldemort will probably kill him for failing to retrieve the prophesy and to punish Draco for not following orders, not killing Dumbledore. Draco and Narcissa would want revenge, they could achieve this by helping Harry to beat Voldemort (by giving him info on a Horcrux, what/where) and it would earn their protection by the Order, as Dumbledore offered. It would also give Draco and his mom a way to be free of Voldemort without being "good guys" which wouldn't be believable.
Ron and Hermione are going to admit their love, finally! They've wasted so much time and they will realize how precious what ever time they have left is. J.K. Rowling has been hinting at this for ages, making Ron jealous about Viktor, Hermione jealous of Lavender, Ron jealous of Cormac McLeggan and the mention of Viktor being in contact with Hermione.... In an interview she made her point on this issue very plain: ES: "We thought it was clearer than ever that Harry and Ginny are an item and Ron and Hermione — although we think you made it painfully obvious in the first five books —"
JKR: [points to herself and whispers] "So do I!"
See the link below for the full interview.
Finally, I think that Snape is and always has been evil. I think he joined the Death Eaters because he wanted more power and he shared their beliefs about purity of blood. He was smart enough to realize Voldemort is a sociopath that is willing to torture/kill his allies as well as his enemies, so he protected himself by being valuable to him as a double agent with Dumbledore. He wants to be free of Voldemort, but he knows he'll be killed if he tries to quit like Karkaroff did. Having overheard some of the prophesy, he knows that Harry is the only one with the power to "vanquish" Voldemort, so he has been helping him even though he hates him. I don't think that he wants to become the new Dark Lord, just wants his freedom. I imagine he resented being a used as a pawn between Voldemort and Dumbledore, probably hated both of them.

Horcruxes -- I think it is entirely possible that Harry's scar is a horcrux. I've seen speculation that a living thing can't be a horcrux, but Nagini is a horcrux, and I don't think I've seen any mention in any book that a person couldn't be a horcrux.
Ron & Hermione -- Yep, they'll be together in the end. J.K. Rowling has pretty much said that in her interviews.
Dying Characters -- I think Snape may sacrifice himself in some way. I want to think he's a bad guy, but I'm not sure. I think J.K. Rowling will make him out to be a good guy just to be a better story, plus I can't imagine that Dumbledore so misread his character all of this time. I also think that the next most likely person to die would be Hagrid, even though I'd hate that. But he's the next closest person to Harry (next to Ron & Hermione) and J.K. may kill him off to pull at all of our heartstrings and force Harry to do something even more dangerous and risky.
I also don't think Harry will die. That's just too sad to consider.

Being that these books seem to be getting darker. I feel that one of the leading characters will die. Maybe a teacher or a Weasley.
With the horcruxes, it seems J.K. Rowling could keep on writing these stories. (OH, I hope.)
I don't really like the idea of Ron and Hermione getting together. I think she is a better match for Harry.
