It was pretty funny, I was watching Spike Lee's "documentary" on Katrina and it was hilarious to listen to these "experts" saying that the next year would be even worse. I was watching the film when hurricane season was two thirds over. Oh yeah, it's been so much worse. Hurricane season is over and not a single hurricane made landfall on the US. Hmmm Just like the "non-global warming alarmist" scientists said. Imagine that.

I think some of the "sky is falling" types gave that number but real meteorologists predicted that 2005 would be a bad hurricane year and that 2006 would be pretty mild. In fact I think they had three hitting Florida and that hasn't even happened yet. There is evidence though that there is "global warming" going on but I don't think it's human caused. We're 500 years overdue for the beginning of an ice-age according to the paleo-meteorologists and they've seen signs of the earth getting warmer right before that.

Please do your research before asking questions. Every indicator clearly marked that this years season was going to be less forceful than last year. Additionally, if you lived in a hurricane zone, which you clearly do not, you would know that there have been several serious storms this year, but fortunately they haven't made land fall. Just because a storm doesn't hit land and destroy lives, does not mean it didn't happen. FYI - Wilma hit on Oct 20 last year, I know because I lived through it. Global Warming is a fact. And the rate and number of hurricanes, frankly are not the only indicator and should not be held as a measuring tool.
Can I ask this question to you. Would it really be that horrible for people to make more of an effort to take better care of our planet? So our children, grandchildren and so on, can enjoy all of the beautiful luxuries, i.e. sandy Beach's, national forests, lush mountains, good breathable air, etc, that we have?
Why is it so bad to be aware that our environment is experiencing issues because of the way we treat it, and why is it so bad to start doing something about it?

So now global warming is a partisan issue? Are you hoping that the resulting floods and unbreathable air will only affect Democrats? Sounds alot like your buddies from the '80s who though the AIDS virus had a sexual preference...
Pretty amazing that the fact that you don't like Al gore's politics allows you to totally discount the non-political material he presented. "Shallow" (as in "shallow-minded) is spelled S-H-A-L-L-O-W.

duh,
the national weather service makes yearly and seasonal weather predictions,
not AL Gore.
while hes doing and reporting on research on long term and short term effects of global warming hes never claimed to be a weather man.
there is a big difference. one you don't seem to understand.

You think that question pisses off Gore followers, ask 'em about Al Gore, Elk Hills, and Occidental Petroleum. Then watch liberal heads explode.
Seriously. I've seen it happen.

The severe dust storms, also caused by Global Warming, in Africa sent dust over the Atlantic and killed the hurricanes.

Sir, you would really help yourself and the world by doing your home work as far as the Global Warming issues are concerned.
Take sometime and read up on what many scientist from around the world are saying and what events they are using to back up their positions.
The only reason America is so far out of step is because of MONEY and be damn with the rest. The same reason we are still driving fossil fuel cars while some South America countries have their population driving non fossil fuel cards. (Over 90%)
Cheap political, negative slander does nothing to support or country! 70% of the masses have no idea about what is going on so they listen to trash, as you have presented, instead of looking up the candidates performance record or keeping up with it. I bet you have never been in YOUR country's service! Actually, what have you done to support America?
