I don't know about "best site ever", bit I like it. eBay is an online market... if you have something to sell, you put it up for auction, and other users bid on it. After the number of days you specify, the top bidder wins.

I know your fears about your card info. But it is secure. Always check any site that asks for it by looking at the top in the address bar for https:// instead of the usual http:// ("s" is for secured site) Also after the first time you give the info, eBay will never ask for it again (if they do, it's probably not them)

You may also wanat to sign up with PayPal. It's the main way people pay for stuff on eBay using bank accounts and/or credit cards. It even has a no minimum balance money market that pays more than 5%, and offers a debit card that gives 1% cash back.

My suggestion is this: go to http://pages.ebay.com/help/newtoebay/getting-started.html and read EVERYTHING carefully. Read the registration process, run through the A-Z index, check out the eBay acronyms, check out their rules for selling and buying.. At any time you can visit the main site and look at actual auctions (look only until you register), then when you think you're ready... GO FOR IT. Also you visit https://www.paypal.com, and do the same.. cruise around and check it out. (notice the "s"?)

I'd talk you through it from scratch, but I think it's better if you check it out yourself, and get used to some of the things that you'll be seeing. It can get very confusing at first, but after you use it, it gets much easier.
I've been using both for many years, and have or problems, except with the guy wo never shipped what I won.

Good Luck and Happy Selling.

if you really get STUCK on something, shoot me a msg and I'll do my best to help!

They have step by step instructions-little mini videos you can play and there is online help - do not respond to someone pretending to be ebay asking for financial info - they are not ebay-D

just place a maximum bid on an item you want and when the bidding is over you might actually win that item.......but remember once you place a bid you cannot rescind your bid.....all bids are like contracts they can send you to collections........when placing a max bid, also keep in consideration of the shipping cost.....it may or not be worth it with shipping being so high......you can pay direct to the seller or use PayPal....I would highly recommend using PayPal.....good luck
