You're asking for a large and cross-referenced database, and it's possible that none exists. The closest thing I can think of is the Top-100 lists from sources such as Billboard magazine. Below is the link to Billboard's historical Top-100 lists, which are listed by year. If you know you're interested in music from 1982-1986, you can look at Billboard's weekly charts from those years... or any other year going back to 1948.
