Black Magic, The Dark Side of the Force, and Even the Cora-Kai Dojo from the Karate Kid movies all represent the same thing, the easy route to personal empowerment as willed by the ID or Shadow. By its definition, it is something that anyone could do but chooses not to because it mandates either the taking from, the dehumanization or the devaluation of other people. It is almost a rule that anything gained by this method has more immediate results but is of a lesser value and usually does not stand the test of time, while those gained by White Magic, or by the Human will in accordance with fair play, take longer to attain, but are of superior quality and last forever, ...often even after death.

Magic, or Magick, is the application of natural and supernatural energies to produce a desired outcome. Some people create a disticntion between what they believe to be good and bad. Some people call "black" or "dark" the things that they don't understand or that scare them.

In general, people consider necromancy, or any sort of spell that impacts another person without their will as black. Some go so far as to include love spells and such in this category.

As to the responder who mentioned Satan, that's kind of off the mark as this creature Satan has nothing to do with Pagan magic. Pagan is a judeo-christian creation, so he has nothing to do with magic.

The truth is, that you have to look real hard at what you're doing. If you are working magic for selfish reasons, then likely, you'll get a bit of it back at you. Magic obeys the laws of the universe, and karma, or the rule of three or the rule of ten might just find themselves working in your life.

White magic is primarily for good, especially for the good of the whole. Black magic is selfish, for the benefit of an individual or smaller group. The difference is in the consequences. Black magic does not care about consequences as long as the practitioner gets what they want "now". White magic practitioners care about the results of anything they do.

I have a friend who says there's no such thing as white or black magic. All magic is the same, it is like the Force or something, and can be either the good side or the bad side, depending on how humans use it.

Your question tells me you perhaps want to create circumstances in your life and someone perhaps told you that magic can accomplish this with a ritual and your mind. I don't know a lot about magic, but wicca may be a starting point for you in that regard. In my opinion, the mind can create without ritual, and so is not needed. However, ritual has been known to trick the mind into belief.

The best reference I have come across in understanding God and the universe is a book called Conversations with God by Neale Donald Walsch. I first stumbled on the book in the public library.

To explain the concept, All That Is could not know itself except conceptually. Only one reference point existed, and that was the single place within. And so All That Is divided Itself becoming all which is this and all which is that and all that was neither. It is the nothing which holds the everything. God is All Things--seen and unseen. In creating that which is "here" and that which is "there", God made it possible for God to know itself. As the elements of all raced forth, time was created. God created the great polarity--the absolute opposite of love--everything love is not--what is now called fear. In the moment fear existed, love could exist as a thing that could be experienced. God gave to each of the countless parts of God (spirit children) the same power to create which God has as a whole. God's purpose for you is that you should know yourself as God. You as pure spirit must enter the physical universe to know experientially what you know conceptually. The physical universe allows you to know what you are not, so you have a reference point to know what you are.

To learn more about it, I suggest reading the book several times. Instead of magic, you can thank God in advance for love in your life. Love is already there, you have just forgotten it is. It's a point of belief or the sponsoring thought behind the thought that is creative.

White magick is pure, black magick is the dark side of white magick. It is a way of life (black magick) I could not and would not choose b/c it would be unethical and morally not what being pure is about. White magick celebrate the good you do for your self , your loved ones and your planet. It means an it harm none do as ye will..they are words we live by and take very serisouly. I think about it before I make any major decisions and sometimes even the smaller ones, that motto really has changed my life and how I look at decisions..hope I have cleared things up for you....

im not quite sure about white magic but black magic is a kind of magic which is very harmful to humans it is the domination of body by satan. usually it is in simple words tht when the satan controls the body or if the satan is in the body it causes many trouble which are quite wierd type of . usually a person is caught by a satan if he or she sprays perfume and goes out during the evenings(dusk) satans are also found in sweet shops , if a woman ahas long thick good hair and leaves them open and is out of the house during dusk then she could be in the risk of being caught by asatan . black magic is very dangerous once aperson is suffering through it he/she experiences various problems though these can be treated by removing the bad jin or satan from the body which is a very long process
