I am a US Marine returning from duty in Iraq. I've been away for the last 18 months. I want to get a gift for my little girl and boy when I get home. Problem is that i don't know what the popular toys/gifts are. I will have access to pretty much any store in another week and want to know if anyone has some good gift ideas. (my son is into PS2 games, football, boy things, my daughter is really really girly) Thanks!

To the girl you can give her (pink) jewelry. When my dad when away to Iraq he brought back a gorgeous watch from Eliz Geneve. You can get it in Iraq and I don't think is very expensive. You can buy her some article of clothes or some decorations for her room. You can buy her a shirt or shoes. Don't buy her a doll because when your 11 you almost a teenager. SO for the girl you can get jewelry, clothes or thing for her room. You can buy her a perfume too. For the boy I think you can get a PS2 game,a shirt maybe and actions figures or other stuff he likes, Well Good Luck with the presents. Hope it helps and congrats on reuniting with your family, Be safe and thanks for defending the country. I know how hard it is to have someone you love in war.

Can't really say for the boy, maybe a gift certificate so he can get his fave PS2 games etc. For your daughter though I suggest a beading kit. Beading is all the rage, you can find them inexpensively at any Michaels or Jo-ann fabrics and all girly girls love to wear jewelry, even some of the tomboys do too!!

i'm not sure what's popular either, but i heard Nintendo came out w/ something new, called the WI (pronounced WEE) or something! :) u might even have to put ur name on the list if u call the store ahead of time!

for a girl, it might be nice to get something like earrings or necklace set....so that it doesn't go out of style, and it is more classic and she can remember you whenever she wears it? :)

good luck~~!

For your girl.. try hair things. Like style items.
Even "make your own" stuff is fun. Like make your own jewelry.

For your son. Sport items ofcourse. But he may be interested in Harry Potter still.
