Yes! if you read the book of Matthew chapter 24 it spells it out clearly. But Just like Noah's day, it will be an end of Governments and False Religion and Greedy Commerce.
It will not mean the end of The Earth. ( Ecc 1:4 ) There will be a new Government, a heavenly one ( Daniel 2:44) that will rule the earth. Then Finally good hearted people will enjoy this Earth without Wars, Disease, Death, etc.... Rev 21:1-4

As a child of the Cold War Era, I've been through many periods when people fear the end is near... and things get better--or less worse, depending on your point of view. The world is a tough place. It has outlasted many crises and it will outlast many more, so keep the faith.

what does 'the end of the world' mean?

strife has been happening on the planet since the beginning of time...nothing is changing really. people die, people are born, life moves in cycles.

to each end there is a beginning

do you think 'the start of the world' is near? if so, what do you want it to look like...and how are you acting today to make that happen?

I think it is 100 trillion years when the sun blows up. Or it could be 2012 when Jesus is supposedly going to come back.
