underOATH [post-hardcore/metalcore - great lyrics], The Postal Service [good beats, poetic lyrics; as well as Death Cab for Cutie]. Copeland [emo/indie] has really beautiful stuff [their older stuff - "Beneath Medicine Tree," as well as their new stuff, "Eat, Sleep, Repeat" - their upcoming release (Halloween)]. If you want some ethnic music, try Lady Blacksmith Mambazo. Also, some music that doesn't even fit into a genre -- Family Force 5. Their music is a mix of alternative/rock/ghetto-crunk. :P Haha, they made up their own genre, but these southern boys are fun. Their debut album is entitled "Business Up Front, Party In the Back" and they can be found on Maverick Records. Switchfoot is also one of my long-time favorites, some of their newer stuff is reminiscent of the 60's [on their album debuting in December, called "Oh! Gravity!" Whatever you choose, never let yourself be limited by genres. Listen to what you like, and never let other's opinions of a band lead you astray. If you box in your taste, you don't get very far, and there is so much music out there you're bound to like.

Also, try searching Myspace Music. Basically every band known to man has one, so you can discover alot of music there. Hope this helps you. Good luck! :)
