has to be original as if i was some shallow minded ancient greek who knew nothing of how the world worked, and trying to describe how like humans came to have hair or something crzy like that

Narcissus is a very topical concept. I recommend that you read this myth and then make a commentary on modern people's narcissistic and self-destructive behavior.

there was this seamstress up in on mount olympus and she made nicer more colorful clothes than any of the gods and goddesses had, so they kicked her off and as she fell to the ground, her colorful clothes left a streak in the sky and that's why we have rainbows. although...i suppose that would only work once, or else they'd be kicking seamstresses off a lot. hmm...tough assignment.
