It depends on if the state has term limits. If they don't, than you can be governor all your life if you keep getting elected.

it depends one govener from michigan was a govenor for ten years it. they vote every 2 years but someone could be govener for up to like 20 or 30 years if they was elected that long unless they dont want to be govener anymore
