I am having major problems at work stemming to issues that can only be solved by me finding a new job. If I leave on my terms (and good terms) will I still be able to receive unemployment benefits while I job hunt?

No, you have to be let go from a company for reasons that were out of your control. A good example of that would be the company has a reduction in force.

As far as I know yu cna only draw unemployment benefits is you are fired or layed off. Not even than is yuo are fired due to something on your part such as being late or absent regularly, not doing your job, violating company rules, and several others.
The difference between being laid off and fired is i fyou are layed off you are still deemed an employee, can pay for your insurance ect. and it is thought you will be brought back to work. reasons to be laid off is lack of work, new reoriganization, company moving, or some others. I fyou are fired it is due to a violation.
But they amount to the same.

YOU can leave for school and draw unemployment in most cases but if you need the money I would check before taking that step. Check with the state first in case.

I would find a job first, before putitng my self at risk.

it depends. I resigned from a position that I absolutely hated, but my former employer would bring me to court if I filed unemployment because he basically was driving me and others insane with his demands. So, I never received any unemployment compensation because your unemployment office will want to find out why you quit your job. You can't tell them becuase I can't stand my boss. That is no reason to quit a job. We have to learn to work in untolerable situations no matter how painful the work enviornment is. Since you are leaving in good terms, they will still interview you on why you left. Good luck on the phone interview.

Only under certain events!
check with your state employment office---I did quit and am recieving benefits right now! but states are ALL DIFFERENT!

If you have to leave because of hardship or abuse or mental abuse -go to your employment office 1st...they be able to set you on the right path!

BEST of LUCK in your new career!!

the easy answer is not any you could desire to be sacked or made redundant. in case you voluntarily % to loose your activity notably in the present climate of the activity subject in this u . s . a . on the 2nd they could deem this no longer acceptable for income. I incredibly have been searching for a job for 3 months on the boring and going to the activity centre and that i hate working yet you do no longer % to be in my place. follow it and hunt for something else quickly. stable luck.

Just leave and don't tell anyone. They will call after a few days and wonder why you aren't there. Then they will probably fire you. Then you are good to go.
Your quiting anyway. Let them fire you if it will benefit you.
