We are now not a free economy we are run by large corporations that have total control of the government and its representatives.
The people have no access to have a equal playing field againist
the capitalist who are not the working people but the ones who
take billion dollar stock options for themselves.
Organized labor is not weak because of the people not wanting it,
it is being totally distroyed because NSA/CIA are the hit squads for corporations that protect them from anyone that would organize againist a company that is large. The NSA/CIA is no less then mafia muscle to be used againist anyone that would even think in the terms of unions. These companys do not mind if you take them to court because you cannot afford to go all the way. They mind if you bring them out on the street and tell about there dirty deeds.

You pose two questions.

The answer to the first is simple. Money. The "haves" have it . The "have nots" don't have it. Yes, I admit this is a simplistic answer, but it's a simplistic question. There is no other way to address it.

The second question is MUCH more complex. I suggests that it may be a noble cause to "simply" redistribute the money, in order to eliminate the separation you describe.

Would one "force" the redistribution? By what authority would YOU, for instance, make me give the money I have earned to someone who hasn't?

If the "haves" knew that they would not be allowed to keep the money earned by his labor, what would be his incentive to earn it, in the first place?

The Russian revolution made this very attempt in the early 20th century. The experiment managed to last until the final decades of the century, but it was an utter failure. The encentives to produce, haveing been eliminated, required a strong, repressive dictatorship to keep up the means of production by virtual forced labor.

It only managed to creat another kind of "have" and "have not" society where success was a matter of the application of brutality, and the ability to align onself with the "winning" side.

Yes, the controlling factor in our society that separates the haves from the merely have nots is ambition.

Take for instance, Michael Moore. This fat, rich, white guy got fat and rich by just getting out there and doing something. He knew that lots of gullible suckers would buy films that whine about "problems", even if they don't offer even one damn solution.
All he had to do was form a film corporation, produce, and voila, a nobody from nowhere became a multi-millionaire fat-cat!

Is American business great or what!?

That depends on how you define the terms Have. If we separate out people who inherited money and just deal with those who are self-made the answer would be drive, determination and perseverence. No I am not willing to do anything about it because I do not consider making or having money a crime.

Corporate greed. Everyone knows gasoline could be sold for $1.00 a gallon and there would still be a profit. There won't be a quick change because there are more lobbyists in Washington than legislators. (Corporations buy legislation). Good question by the way.

The one controlling factor is politicians. They go to congress, get themselves stinking rich, become even more rich by not having to ever pay for healthcare the rest of their freaking lives, they make the loopholes that corporations can slip through
and then they tax the rest of us to death (literally).

Have a great day!!!

Money. We already have class mobility. The way to take advantage of this mobility is through education.

Education without a doubt.

I've heard that in many minority communities that kids that do well in school are beat up and ridiculed.

You can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink.
