Their reasons before and after invasion

Before the invasion the official U.S. reason was because Saddam Hussein possessed WMD that he might give to terrorists enemies of tne United States.

After the American invasion were found in Iraq no WMD were found. At that point the offical U.S. reason for invading changed to bringing about regime change by deposing an 'evil' dictator in the hopes of spreading democracy throughout the Middle East. Ironically war has made Bush into a dictator here at home.

First off I'd like to begin by saying I didn't vote for Bush, he's a self absorbed, God complex having hick. Now what I believe to be the "main reason" for the invasion was to over throw Sadaam Husein because he may have been funding Bin Laden. Now if you ask me invading Iraq was the most pointless moves our country could have made. How is ruining another country going to catch the man responsbile for 9-11? it's not. They captured Huesin, who is no angel himself, but are persecuting him for a crime he didn't commit (in a sense). Bin Laden did commit this crime and the only reason we went for Husein is because we cant catch the other maniac. It's total idiocy. Even my friends in the US miltary I have asked the question "how do you feel about being in Iraq" (many of them were there) and they aren't even sure anymore and half of them said it's an "oil war". So if you ask me the real reason is so Bush can have oil and look like a big man. Meanwhile the rest of the world hates the American people now because this jack *** tried to look cool. Whatever, I'm done, I don't even know what else to say on the matter.

Oh and just to add further to my rant about the rest of the world hateing America, here is a direct quote from someone from the UK regarding assasinating our president, mind you I am not saying this this is just a quote I found on yahoo answers:
"Here's hoping George W is the next.
Nixon and Lincoln are the main two, though I think there is about 5 in total. Almost 1 in 9, surely you must be due another?"

Making the long story simple,

BEFORE THE INVASION

1. The U.S. gov. has been monitoring Iraq since the first Gulf war, and found the transaction records of Saddam had imported some weapons technology (mostly small arms, tanks, etc.) and machinary parts, which can be used to produce the weapons of the mass distruction (WMD; like long-range missiles with nuclear warhead).

But, keep it in mind that the "machinary parts" the U.S. gov. claimed that can produce the WMD, actually can also be used on civilian use of heavy-industry machines (Time magazine).

2. Saddam Hussein was suspected of acheiving the capability of enriching the uranium, producing the WMD and even chemical weapons. So the under the U.S.'s request, the UN sent the inspectors. They did not find anything to accuse Saddam for such activities. Bush still insisted that Saddam had hidden the troubled items.

3. So the Iraqi gov. openly showed whatever they had, saying " look, we ain't got nothing. Now please don't annoy us."

4. Bush further claimed Saddam had hidden all the WMDs and chemical weapons on the hidden bunkers, mobile labs and moible misslile launchers, and Saddam's own presidential palaces (there are more than ten palaces for him in Iraq).

After long inspections and talkings with UN, Saddam's Iraqi gov., and the U.S. gov., Bush finally concluded the invasion of Iraq and the regime change is neccessary, because "the Iraqi gov. had already learned the know-hows of building the WMD, so all of those UN inspections and the confistications of suspected items are useless."

5. Not only to that, but also Bush began relating Saddam's Iraq to the Al Qadea. Throughout many public speechs, Bush gave the impression to the public that Iraq has something to do with the 9/11, and Iraq is supporting the terrorists to attack the U.S. Bush claimed " we can not let those WMDs fall on the hands of the terrorists".

But in reality, it turned out Iraq had nothing to do with the 9/11.

In order to solidify his assertion, Bush name the combat operation of invading Iraq as "Operation Iraqi Freedom", as a part of the "Operation Enduring Freedom", which is America's retaliation to the Al Qaeda for the 9/11 attack.

AFTER THE INVASION

1. After failing to find the WMDs, Bush bagan focusing on relating the fallen Saddam's Iraq to Al Qaeda AND the "terrorists" in general.

2. After the invasion, Bush claimed it is America's duty to spread democracy in the Mid East region, and help the Iraqis getting educated, re-structuring the gov., etc.

Non-related topic; according to the Time magazine, Bush Jr. had been planning the Iraqi invasion long before the 9/11 happened. In fact, one of the first things he did right after being elected as the president, was nominating Don. Rumsfeld as the Sec. of Defense and drawing a plan for hitting Iraq (at year 2000).

The lie that Saddam was hooked up with Al Quaeda, whom he considered a power rival.
The lie that Saddam both was making chemical weapons, and was attempting to purchase yellow cake uranium secretly on the Nigerian black market to make nuclear bombs. Bush was told by numerous sources that the information was false or shakey, but Rumsfeld, Pearle, Wolfowitz, Kissinger, Murdoch, Scaife, and others had already decided to take to US to war come what may, so he put that info into the State of the Union speech and bullied Powell into saying it at the UN, one of the major regrets of Powell's life according to his book.
Bush perjured himself before the American People on causus belli, the reasons for going to war.
This is treason.

To prevent the construction of weapons of mass destruction (WMD), but if you believe that, then enjoy your Christmas lunch with Santa Claus and his army of elves.

If WMD were the reason, what about invading India, Pakistan, Israel, France (maybe not a bad idea), Japan, South Africa, China, Russia, North Korea (sorry, they tried that and failed), Libya, .............

.... oh, and the United Kingdom of Great Britian and Ireland!

harboring suspected terrorists, a psycho in command are the basics, except if that was the case then we'd need to destry the entire democratic party.

WMD's and then terrorists. They will never admit failure but Iraq is a total failure in my opinion.
