my friend is white and he wants to paint himself black and act gangster for halloween? what should i do?

Does your friend have a death wish or something ? Black people get very up set . They are very touchy about who they are and what they are . It is not like dressing up like a Polish person or a Italian . Your friend is walking on thin ice here. How about a nice Eskimo . Or why be any ethnic person . Be a pumpkin . You will never see a large orange vegetable get up set if some one wants to dress up like them . Especially a white male . Good Luck .

I strongly suggest that he or she does not do this it could seriously get him hurt if he came across the wrong people or person. al jolsen did that years ago painted his face pitch black and put a large amount of white paint around his lips. this was very offensive to the black community. halloween is about fun and harmful costumes not degrading or bearing false witness.

I think it's a great idea, as long as he doesn't go to work in that costume. That's the sort of thing that could get him fired. He should also avoid predominantly African-American neighborhoods, where he might be mistaken for an enemy of another gang and get shot. Otherwise I applaud his bold act of rebellious anti-political-correctnessism.

well, let him make his own descisions & if he gets harmed for doing it, then you can't say you didn't warn him. because a racist joke on haloween can get pretty ugly, even if he doesn't mean it to offend anyone..think about it liike this, if you a white person saw a black person dressed up as a white person for haloween you know you would be offended. bring up other ideas of something "cool" for him to be for haloween. look out for him. however, don't be to bosy, because then he'll do it just to make you mad.

Well, for ur sake let him. It's a free country. He can do wut he wants. And it's halloween besides everyone is dressing up. My brother is being a woman for halloween. Just make sure he doesn't say anything they wouldn't want him to say. And make sure he looks gangster.

I'm black and i wouldn't let him do it because i would not take that lightly it just seems wrong for him to do especially if he is not black

Why does he want to do that?? You just need to tell him that what he is doing could cause trouble, or really hurt someone!! Not to mention its wrong!!!

tell him to do that, but tell everyone that he is doing a bad impression of a certain person, like nelly. that way it wont be AS offensive.
