There is a chance you can put them in inside out which is what can make them sometimes irritating. You can test this by placing the lens in you hand and pinch both sides of the lens so that it bounces in your hand or keep pushing it inside and out and the deeper side will be the side which is the right side or it'l bounce back into place. If your new to the lenses it will feel irritating bcos ur getting used to them.
Also did you get them fitted in from an opticians? Because if they are just normal fashion contact lenses, they are usually the "standard" lens which if you have astigmatism (which is your eye being in like a rugby shape) it'll feel quite uncomfortable which is why its best to get measured up by an opticians. Other than that they are great!

Whether they are the 30 day ones or daily ones, it should be obvious whether contact lenses are inside out - viewed from the side while sitting on your finger tip they should be very bowl shaped, if they are more saucer shaped with a flat rim they are inside out. You should get used to them and they ought to feel more comfortable, better to start building up wearing them for a short time and increasing the time gradually. To tell the truth I've never been as comfortable wearing my soft lenses as I was with my hard gas permeable lenses, but I do find drinking alcohol (even a single drink) makes wearing them much more bearable. During the day if I wear mine and find my eyes are dry, it helps to squirt a bit of lens solution in to my eyes, as dryness is the main cause of irritation other than the lens not being entirely clean when you put them in. Make sure you blink lots and don't get any tiny fibres from a towel onto your finger tip before you put your lenses in, and you should be OK.

Did you have your lenses fitted by an optician or whatever it is that specialises in fitting contact lenses? IIf not, it is possible that the ones you have are the wrong shape for your eyes, which would make them very uncomfortable.
Also, the ones that change eye colour are, I believe, hard contact lenses. I wear soft contact lenses and I don't feel when they are in my eyes, but they do have to come out after about 10 hours.
Maybe you should check the shape of yours, if that's right for you then you will eventually get used to them.

No they are not uncomfortable
I have been wearing them for 3 years now and cant complain they the best thing and i dont even notice.
A little bit of advice dont use water as contact solution cause this will cause the eye to burn and result in an infection (which means no contacts for 1-2 weeks)
Dont fiddle with it in your eye while you are wearing it cause this can cause it to be uncomfortable.
This is what i used to do when it used to be uncomfortable, if it was my left eye i would gently put my finger on the contact lens (without taking it out) look to right and move the contact to the left make tiny circles and move it back (while my eye is still looking left ) then i wolud blink and look straight again and my eye would be fine.

What brand did you get? You mentioned that you bought fashion contact lenses. Does that mean that you didn't see a doctor? There is a possibility that you could have astigmatism in your eyes that prevent the contact lense from staying in place. Usually when this happens, it causes irritation to your eyes. It could also be the brand that you got. I wear Ciba's Illusions. They are quite expensive and you need a prescription to order them but they are very comfortable and you can't feel them when you are wearing them. When I wear freshlook, it irritates my left eye because I have astigmatism in that eye and the lense was not designed for that. Other brands might give you a certain reaction as well. I once bought a pair of lenses but I don't remember the brand and they stung my eyes. They kept on drying out. I thought it was because of me since I have sensitive eyes but I gave them away and they hurt my friends eyes too so she gave them back to me and then I let someone else have them and she stopped wearing them too because they hurt her eyes also.

I am against people buying contact lenses from fashion outlets. If you want to wear lenses then you should go to a qualified opticians to be fitted properly for them and have it explained to you how insert them how to look after them and your eyes. Before an optician will fit you for lenses you have to have had an up to date sight test to check the health of your eyes and to see if a correction is required. At least then you will be given the best advice on the different kinds of lenses that are available for you.

Contact lenses are not uncomfortable. Soft lenses can be 80% water! It's likely that you have put them in the wrong way or have a piece of dirt on the lenses. You may even have a tiny tear in the lense. Ask your optician if you need help with them. x

You should not be able to feel your contact lenses once they are in your eyes. You probably put them on inside out or there was a bit of fuzz on the lense before you put them in. When the lens is on the tip of your finger, check to make sure that it forms a perfect bowl without ridges. If it doesn't, flip it over.

They can be inside out. Take them out, place on the tip of your finger and look carefully at your contact. Is it similar in shape to a ufo where the ends go outwards or does the contact seem to go straight? The contact should look similar to a ufo when it's the wrong way to put them in. Also, keep your eyes moist with contact drops. You should also "break them in" by wearing them for short periods in a day and then work up to a whole 8 hours. If you're still having discomfort, take them out and see your doctor.

I've been wearing contacts for over 10 years and they definitely get more comfortable... to the point you don't even realize you're wearing them!
As a new wearer, your eyes have never felt that before and it's somewhat of a "foreign object."
Just make sure your hands are clean and clean the lens real well. Give it time and you'll be good.
As a tip, I put a drop of Visine in each eye before I put my lenses in. For some reason (for me) it makes the wear more comfy.
Good luck!
