Overall yes! 1. its high in caffeine and that is bad for you 2. it has a lot of sugar and the sweeteners in diet are not any better 3. It impedes proper bone development for your baby 4. Soda of any kind is a factor in osteoporosis - so its rotting your bones and 5. one of the flavors in it is prune juice (really -that is why people can never nail that flavor down)

There definitely is risk associated with high intake of caffeine during pregnancy (over 150 mg per day - or about 1 1/2 cups of coffee worth). Please read the detailed study listed below from MotherRisk.org.

Also, there is a good article on the March of Dimes website about caffeine intake during pregnancy.

While one or two Dr. Pepper's a day doesn't seem to increase risk of miscarriage or impair fetal growth, studies show that high levels of caffeine intake definitely will harm an unborn child.

No it's not bad if you stay limited. You should try limiting your caffeine and sugars. Juices, milk and lots of water are best. If you crave the pop, choose a naturally decaffeinated pop like Faygo. They have a variety of flavors and are naturally decaffeinated, look for Dr. Faygo, it's caffine free and taste just like Dr. Pepper. Good luck!

YES YES YES

I had a experience with Dr. Pepper when I was 8 months pregnant with my youngest son. I had to be rushed to the ER for my heart rate beating toooooooo fast. I had to stay in ICU under a DR. watch until it got back to normal. Scared me to death because it was my first experience with rapid heartbeat. DR. said it was from the caffine in the Dr. Pepper. I stayed about 4 days in the hospital before I was released.

Any drink with caffine is bad. I am 28 weeks pregnant with my second child. I drank caffine non-stop with my 1st and he is fine. I drink Dr. Pepper once in a while with this pregnancy and she seems to be healthy. Just watch your intake.

A friend of mine (while she was pregnant) had preeclampsia, or high blood pressure ONLY while she was pregnant. Her OB told her to limit the amount of caffiene she took in per day.

I personally chose not to drink ANY caffeine during my entire two pregnancies. Both of my girls were born healthy, and I'm glad I didn't subject them to a "drug" of sorts while they were still in my belly. (I still don't let them have caffeine; they only drink milk, water, or juice.) They're now 2 1/2 and 17 months...both healthy smart and beautiful.

If I were you, I wouldn't put anything in your body that you wouldn't want to feed a baby directly. I always tried to eat as healthy as possible because that baby is depending on you for its nutrition for healthy development! It's more a personal choice, honestly, so it's up to you from here. Good luck to you and congratulations!

The doctor's tell you to avoid caffine, but if you only have one I don't think it would hurt anything. If you drink coffee as well, I wouldn't drink any pop. They do, however, make a caffine free Dr. Pepper that I don't notice any taste difference.

Only for it's caffeine content. If you can keep that at or below the equivalent of 3 Dr. Peppers or 3 cups of coffee per day, no worries.

Dr. Pepper has 40 something grams of caffeine in it. Or something like that. Its the same as MT dew or a cup of coffee.

Any stimulent is bad durring pregnant. Not to mention all the sugar thats in it.

Dont drink it.

Avoid the caffeine, if you like soft drinks there are plenty without caffeine such as 7 up, Sprite, and Rootbeer....

You can also get caffeine free versions of Coke and Pepsi...
I'm not sure whether or not Dr. Pepper has caffeine...
