Apparently, as the father of microcredit, he helps many many extremely poor people, especially women, start little home made businesses. Apparently none of them ever defaulted on a loan. Some women took his money even tho they were told that their children would be eaten by monsters if they took money independ of their husbands. They took the money. The kids didn't get eaten and they flourished. Go figure.

I only know that he has helped lots of his people in Bangledesh with micro loans. And he will continue to help them with his Nobel money.
