You can also try Hilton Universal City Walk. It has ball-rooms for any size to accomdate you. 555 Universal Hollywood Drive, Universal City, CA. 818-506-2500.
Take Hollywood Freeway (101), exit on Lankersham Blvd, then follow signs to hotel.

Chinese restaurant in Cerritos, Sambi's in Downey, Maggianos at the Grove is great and has a nice upstairs room that's private.

Give Bruno's a try. Very good food and it has been there for years. Just off Washington Blvd and Centrillia.
