Have you downloaded itunes? If your music library is in itunes, when you plug your shuffle in it should come up in itunes and download your tunes automatically. If not, i would see if there are any updates for itunes and download them adn see if that helps.

If worse comes to worse, your can use Windows Media Player, V9, if you know were the files are in your computer, titling the folder as IPOD Tunes would make it convienent, if your using a PC make sure the files are in PC language not the Apple text, which is written in Unix not Visual Basic or C+.

The source would be the folder on your hard drive where you've saved your songs. The destination would be your iPod Shuffle.

go to my documents then...... my music folder then you should have i tunes folder there click on it. then i tunes muics folder then u should have all the ablum or songs there.
