Rod the mod just came out with a record of 70's classics.

Why didn't he just remake his own songs? They were better than the songs he chose for this record.

Talk about being a "safe" artist.

Does anyone like this?

Maybe these were songs he always wanted to cover but couldn't in the 70's. How do you explain the lounge singer album he did ?

I think Rod is trying to redefine himself & is going back to his roots. Aerosmith & Eric Clapton recently did this with their blues albums.

After almost 40 years in the music biz and many albums, I'm sure one can forget who he was.

A couple other artists/groups have done this, as well...
I believe Styx recently did this, and another 70's rocker,
who's name doesn't immediately come to mind.

Blame Michael Bolton, who did his "Timeless" CD back in the '90's, he planted the seed (Yuk).
