I think that my C-section was an extremely rare experience....I was walking around with hardly any pain at all by the second day. I went home after 3 days and was able to nurse my baby with no pain at all, as well as go up and down the stairs whenever I wanted. The csection itself was super easy- the baby was out within 10 minutes. The worst part of it was the spinal- it was only supposed to take 15 minutes max, but it took almost 45 minutes, and they left my husband outside the room the whole time and didn't tell him what was going on, so he was a little panicked. Hopefully your anesthesiologist won't have that kind of trouble with yours! The cons, obviously, would be the recovery time for most people, and sitting in the room waiting for the appointment time of the surgery. It was a little stressful- but I had never even been in a hospital before! The pros are knowing exactly when you are going in, so you can be prepared. The baby comes out just beautiful, also, because he won't get all squished like with a vaginal birth! Another pro for me, personally, was sitting there with my beautiful new baby, listening to a poor soul down the hall moaning, screaming and groaning, and knowing that I didn't have to go through that! Good luck- it's really not so bad! And congratulations.

Honestly, i don't think things could go any worse than they did for me!! But, mine was an emergency c section!! You'll be fine! C sections do suck, they are a little nerve racking, but your SO should be there with you!! The spinal/epidural was a breeze! It's a little uncomfortable, but nothing totally unbearable!! Just listen to what they tell you, and STAY CALM!! recovery is what sucks! You'll most likely be catheterized (Which to some extent is nice, considering you are most likely getting up lie 4 times a night to pee!) and that's a weird feeling when they take that out!! lol the incision site will be sore, so i recommend buying some granny high waisted panties so the elastic isn't on your incision! Also, standing and walking for the first time is weird! If feels like someone has sown your ribs to your pelvic bone, but goes away after a bit. Getting in and out of bed will be a challenge for a few weeks! Get help, or get other people to do things, so you don't have to get in and out! Stay on top of your pain meds!!! Don't fall behind!! Most of all, rest when your baby rests! Don't do too much as you DON"T want to tear!! Good Luck you'll be fine!

I have had three c-sections the first one was emergency and I had to be put to sleep and recovery was hard. Don't go that route. The other two were planned and I was awake. I would definitly opt for a spinal instead of an epidural. Smaller needle, doesn't have to be as percise in location, takes effect faster, and i my case worked better. Recovery with the second two wasn't nearly as bad. Just make sure to take the pain meds offered don't wait until it's built up. Walk as much as possible. Rest like you should, cherish your baby, and make someone else take care of everything else for a while. By the way I was driving 2 weeks after my last c-section

My recovery was excellent. We found out that she was breech and had the cord around her neck at 35 weeks, so they decied to take her right then. I was out of the hospital after a day and a half, which I guess is surprising. Getting in and out of bed is uncomfortable. The same with walking stairs, but with the meds they give you tha pain is managable. The medicine they give you before surgery causes your legs and feet to swell several days later, so that is a pain too. It's not bad, so don't worry. I know someone who wouldn't have a baby any other way...she said recovery is worse for a natural delivery

I've had 2 c-sections and surgery is never fun. It wasn't horrible though. I was out and about a week to a week and a half after the c/s. I wasn't 100%, but able to get around. Make sure someone is there to help you for at least 3 or 4 days after you get home. After that it is just uncomfortable for another week or so but not too bad.
I never had breech baby's so I can't help you there...sorry.

I had a C-section 4 months ago. It took me a good week and a half before I was able to really get up and move around. It's not comfortable but you will have pain meds and they do help. With a c-section it may take longer for you to exercise or have sex...sometimes longer then 6 weeks depending on the level of comfort you experience.
The area where I was cut open is still very tender and I've heard it can take up to a year before that gets better. It doesn't hurt really but its very tender to touch.

I had my first c-sec. 5mos. ago. My recovery has been very slow, but I feel the reason for that is that I have a 2yr. old in addition to my baby, and have had NO help. Recovery most likely would've been smooth, but I had to do alot of lifting and pulling that I shouldn't have. So I'm still feeling lots of soreness and pain under my scar. I just didn't have any choices since I was home by myself w/my babies.
So as long as you follow the aftercare instructions, and try to get as much help as possible after you go home, you should fair just fine. I know if you don't allow the scar tissue to heal just right, it will cause you pain for a long time!! like me.......good luck, and get plenty of help!!

I had a c-section and the recovery was pretty bad, but it only took me about 6 weeks to recover. You can't lift anything over ten pounds, bleeding was bad for me, because I was anemic, I got an infection in my incestion, getting out of bed was not fun at first and I was so tired. Make sure that you have help for the first couple of weeks after you come home.

Have they talked to you about exercises to turn the baby?
You should be doing breech tilts in order to get baby to turn back head down.
You can also put cold on your fundus and heat on your pelvis to encourage baby to turn.
Doing shoulder stands is what finally got my breech baby to turn head down. I felt her turn when I came out of a shoulder stand. I was about 38 weeks at the time if I remember right.
You can also see a chiropractor to have him do the Webster Technique to try to encourage baby to turn.
And talk to your OB about the possibility of an external cephalic version.

before giving you a c-section, they will most likey try to turn the baby around... if that doesnt work they will give u a c-section, i had one, it wasnt as bad as everyone said it would be, for a few days youl have trouble walking, after that you shoul dbe fine, dont lift anything heavy, change the baby on a high counter or change table so u wont have to bend so much... also baths are out of the question till its healed... only showers.... just make sure u keep the cut dry, keep changing the pads they put on it to avoid sticking, its really not as bad as it sounds, youll be fine...
