I am an independent but that needs some qualification. I am a capitialist and therefore am totally against any form of socialism which in most cases leaves me having to vote for a republican. We need a third party, the capitalist party. It would stand to reason we would certainly have the backing of business.
I have learned a lot in my long life and I used to review the positions of each candidate, and would never vote a straight ticket. Since 1992 however one of the parties has voted pretty much in lockstep with their leadership, obstructing the flow of government and therefore it seems that the person falls when the party tells them what to do, or else they get booted out like Lieberman.
Find a party who supports your basic philosophy because if you pick the person you think will do the best you are going to be disappointed with their votes more often than not.

Truthfully I just call myself a true American Independent with no affiliation with any party, never have been or will be.
I believe in voting for the person who I think is the best for what I think is best for our country.
The idea of walking into a voting booth and punching only buttons for one party stinks to high heaven. Just look at what's happening today. All we have in office are a bunch of worthless professional politicians that can only bicker back and forth complaining about each other and draw a fantastic salary with the best benefits in the world for doing absolutely nothing for you and I.

those who elect suggestion are better probable to vote for the party that's better probable to grant them that suggestion. extremely shouldn t be wonderful. so people wanting welfare have a tendency to vote democrat. ordinary reason and result. in an attempt to apply the actual undeniable actuality that better democrats are on welfare as an insult to the democratic party is idiotic. it s like noticing a number of ill people popping out of a well being center and wondering that the construction is making people ill

I am an independent. The reason is because no party represents the whole of my views. I believe in voting on issues and people, not party ideologies.

When someone asks me that question, my answer is always "I am an American." I also vote for the person I think is most qualified no matter what party they belong to.
