I have never had any heart problems, but the past few weeks, my heart rate has been fast! My resting right now is 96, and I have been sitting for a while. I am worried that this is hurting me or the baby? Every once in a while it will spike up when I move alot, and I know my anxiety about it is not helping. Is this normal to have it be so high??

Mine has always been a little high, but it has seemed to get worse since I got pregnant. But, your blood volume increases a ton when you are preggo, so your body may just be trying to adjust to it. As long as your bloodpressure is ok, you probably don't have anything to worry about. Just remember that even when you are resting your body is doing a lot of work. :)

your body is working a little harder now, there's a whole other poerson inside that it has to compensate for. I remember my heart rate being faster when I was pregnant too. If you're having anxiety about, give your doc a call just for peace of mind.

Yeah. Extra blood, extra hormones. So long as your BP isnt high you're fine. Pregnant women have higher heart rates from all the blood, your heart has to pump more to get it around.

Call the doctor. It's what you pay them for!

If you are having chest pain, excess fatigue, pain in your arm- go immediately to the ER - call your doctor on the way.

The doctors can order tests to be done that will not hurt you or baby - Non-Stress Tests and Stress Tests to check to see that baby is doing well under these circumstances.

Good luck,
Sarah

Please have your thyroid checked that sounds like my experience with my second pregnancy. I went home to visit my dad who said I looked like his sister before she was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism, I had to beg the obgyn to test me and turns out I had and advanced case. It is very common for a pregnant woman to develop this disease, sadly there is not much you can do about it until the baby is born, I waited even longer so I could breast feed.
