One thing stands out, even though I haven't had a bad life. During a teachers' strike at my daughter's high school the senior band wanted to go to Wonderland (Ontario amusement park) where they would play a concert in competition against many other high schools. But their music teacher couldn't go because of the strike. So my daughter said "If only we could find someone to conduct the band, we could go." They all wanted to go, not so much for the competition as for the great rides! I said "Sure, I'll conduct." I'm very musical (a singer) but I'd never done it before, even though it had been a secret dream of mine. So I got the baton, memorized the music (it was a half-hour program) and pretended to be the music teacher. Their real music teacher was a really cool guy who didn't like what the strike was doing to the kids. The band played great, and I even got a personal congratulations from the adjudicator!

Well, other than BIRTH, I'd have to say growing up in a loving and normal family and now starting my own. I know.....that'll get a big "Awwwwww.", but seriously now...Who you are should by far outway what you happened to get or receive.
