my pc is being really slow lately, ive done the defrag thing .......?

it takes ages to shut down and close pages and stuff like that, i dont have much stuff on it for my memory to be full can any1 help??

Without knowing specifics, I can only offer general tips. Aside from the obvious, such as adding more RAM, here are some other suggestions.
First, use a good anti-virus and anti-spyware program(s) to get rid of what infections those programs might find. Next, defragment your hard drive. Then go to Start, then Run,and then type in MSCONFIG and run that program to see what programs are running when your pc boots up. You may find many programs that have cluttered up the boot process....things like the RealPlayer and QuickTime updates as examples. Those don't need to be running, and can be disabled.
Multiple unneeded fonts can also be a problem. Get rid of the ones that you don't use, but bear in mind that some are needed by Windows, so be careful which ones you delete.
Update the drivers for things like your video and sound cards, monitor, and printer. Hope this helps.

get a really good anti virus anti spyware software, free ones can be downloaded at microsoft.com, use them to get rid of viruses.
Turn your pc off when not using it
clean up your system by defrag

you could add extra parts to it, like RAM
