Has anyone experienced similar problems with winter indoor dryness (once the heating system is turned on?) During winter months I become disoriented, nervous and my skin crawls if I enter an indoor area where the air is dry , i.e. low or insufficient (for me) humidity. In my own home I have humidifiers on my furnaces as well as stand alone units in rooms where I spend a lot of time. This gives me a lot of relief, however it does contribute to some mildew and other problems for my house. My sensitivity to dryness keeps me from going to other homes/environments during the winter period. I would like to know if there is definition and a remedy for this malady? Thanks

Most of the winter maladies are the result of loss of moisture in the air, resultant to the introduction of heat into the house. What you are doing is very proper but perhaps you are having too much, if you have mildew as a result. It is often sufficient to leave a window cracked to allow moisture to enter the home.
