Yup.

Consult with professional ghost hunting groups like TAPS they give a lot of tips for new ghost hunters on their site http://the-atlantic-paranormal-society.com/arthunters.html .

You'll need some equipment such as digital cameras, digital voice recorders, video cameras, EM detectors, laser thermometers and the coolest of the cool a thermal imaging camera which records images by heat signature. If on a budget then digital cameras and minicassette tapes.

Be prepared to spend a whole night in the place you'll want to take a few people and sit in groups of 2 at various points depending on the size of the place you're investigating and keep quiet unless you're "calling out" for EVP's.

You don't need a medium because there are a lot of fakes and people who honestly believe they are but aren't. They focus and then their mind pulls up something which they think is coming from the dead but is actually their subconscious making stuff up. I've actually seen ghosts on several occassions but i don't think i'm psychic...maybe empathic...anyway.

You should go in with the mind of a skeptic try to dismiss what you see as supernatural. Just because something goes bump in the night doesn't mean it's a wraith. Stay objective.

Don't be disappointed if you don't see anything or get any EVPs (electronic voice phenomenononononon). A place can have a ghost smash everything in sight one day and then not have another manifesation for years.

Ghost hunting can be a great hobby make sure if you're married your spouse has patience because you'll be up late nights and who knows maybe you'll be the one to get that holy grail of ghost hunting..the definitive proof...a true video of a full formed apparition interacting with you.

Whatever info you get make sure you share it with other ghost hunters.

Good luck.

Well investigators on tv hunt at night because it adds a creepy factor to the show. They arnt so much trying to help out owners as they are trying to keep their fan base content and watching the show. Most groups follow in that footstep and hunt at night. It is true that ghosts are more active at night but that doesnt mean they arnt active during the day too. Ghosts need energy to do stuff. When there is no energy around, they use the natural energy that is produced within the earth. It is already known that people use energy when they are awake. So they are absorbing the energy in the air that ghosts need. Therefore ghosts are less active during the day. Now at night, alot of people are sleeping, therefore absorbing less energy, giving the ghosts more to feed off of. Now my group investigates both daytime and nighttime. Now EMF sensitivity is different. Many people are either not sensitive to EMFs or have a very low sensitivity to EMFs therefore the person is not effected at all. Only people that are highly sensitive to EMFs will feel the effects. Its known as EMF hypersensitivity and is a real condition that has been documented and proven. These people mainly have problems when the EMFs are contained or boxed into an area, home, building, etc. But many people are not effected by high EMFs. Im sure there are all kinds of ghost animals, soldiers, etc. They do not all show activity. Some are just simply there. And yes, i agree. If you think your house is haunted, document it with audio, video, anything. But i can also see it from their side as well. They will record it on video or audio but people will say its faked. Now many orbs, as i explained in another post, are naturally explained. I wont get into that though. Hope i helped a little. I tried keeping to the basics so you wouldnt have a novel to read so if you dont understand something or have anymore questions, id love to answer them for you.
