I agree with T21mommy! We have all kinds of awareness events going on in October! And as for physical characteristics, well, my son has blue eyes, blond hair, a beautiful smile, a cute-as-a-button nose, etc! People with Down syndrome are as individual as anyone else. I think they look like angels!!

Actually, October is Down syndrome awareness month.
Physical characteristics? Happy, Loving, Perfect, Beautiful... do I need to go on?

Everyone looks different! But society has dictated to us how different we can be and still be acceptable!

The norms of society need to be shattered. People with Down syndrome have hopes, dreams and abilities just like all of us have. In so many ways they are better than you and me.

They have been given to all of us as a gift from God and sent here to change people's hearts, minds, and souls.

We have to see past the "imperfections" society has defined, and see what they have to offer us, things we ourselves don't possess.

They teach us that looks and intelligence aren't everything. Love and happiness are. Both of which my little boy has an abundance of.
