My 4+ month old, who's an excellent sleeper, woke up hysterically crying at 3am last night. This has never happened before. Earlier in the evening he cried out twice, and when I went to him he was actually asleep (I put a pacifier in, and he was fine). He wasn't cold/hot/feverish, etc. Could he have had a nightmare?

Especially concerned b/c he got his 4-mo shots last week. Is this normal? Obviously, I'm a first-time mom! Thanks for the help...

It could be all of these things. Sometimes I think my five month old gets scared and just want to know that I'm there.

I started using a pacifier when my son started teething and it has helped a lot. I bought him a Playtex teething pacifier. You can also try Hyland's teething Tablets, teething rings, Tylonel and a coll wash cloth and see if this helps his teeth.

One of my twins does the same thing. Not really sure if they are nightmares. It could be he is teething. It seems babies, at least mine, woke up crying hysterically at night touching her mouth. So, I give her teething tablets or Tylenol for babies.

For the shots, yeah, he could be crying because of that. Tylenol should make him feel better. And, an hour before your son's next shots, give him Tylenol. It will cut down on any fever that may occur.

Also, he may need a diaper change. My twins always wake up screaming because they do not want to sleep in a poopy or wet diaper.

Hope this helps you.

I would definately insist that your doctor put these reactions in his records. Vaccines are deadly & poisionous, and need to be treated as such. Reactions can happen weeks after the shots.

File a report to VAERS as well...For you childs next shots be very AWARE and expect the possibility of a worse reaction, like hours and hours of hysterical screaming.

Sorry to scare you Mamma, I'm very anti-vaccine and when I hear things like this it's just so sad :(
