Welcome eveyone, next time I will name names.

My list is:
Chamberlain - 57.4
Russell - 41.5
Kareem - 39.4
Bellamy - 36.8
Olajuwon - 35.4
Cowens - 35
Malone - 34.8
Robinson - 34.2
Gilmore - 33.4
Reed - 33.4
Ewing - 33.3
Lanier - 33.3
Thurmond - 32.7
Unseld - 28.7
N. Beatty - 27.9
Walton - 27.2
Sampson - 26.5

The best center is a tough question to ask, because there are so many great ones, with so many different styles.
I would say that it goes like this:
-Bill Russel
-Wilt Chamberlain
-Even though you said no currents, Shaq is probably one of if not the most dominant player to ever play.
-George Mikan (voted the #1 player of the first half on the 20th century)
-Kareem Abdul-Jabbar
-Hakeem Olajuwon
-David Robinson
-Patrick Ewing
-Moses Malone
-Bill Walton (Despite how much I hate the guy now, he was a great center).

oh and to the dude below me, knocking these guys for listing no centers- little known facts: 1- kevin mchale often filled ina played the center spot on the celtics, and more often when in college. and 2- magic johnson played all 5 positions, including starting as center in the 1980 finals (game 6)
