Hi
There are too many factors influencing a meeting of this kind to accurately guess at it.. but here goes
First I see many out here who say a Lion cant bit through a croc hide.. Not true
A Lion most certainly can and with Jaws that exert unreal pressure as well...
However,,. the croc not only has its teeth and its own Jaw pressure but it has that tail. a strike from a crocs tail alone can break bones and do real damage.
I know of cases where Lions hav beat out crocs for a kill... but as a rule..Its the Croc who would win the majority of times and the Lion would back off...
It would be very difficult for a Lion to get to a Croc without getting struck as they are agile and sooo fast and trrouble at both ends.
If I have to say only 1.. then its the Croc who will Rule this one!
Now maybe a Croc Verses a Hippo.. Croc Loses... But you said Lion :)
Good Luck

Depends on several factors: male or female lion, size of the croc, and the terrain. But if it was an averaged-sized croc - about ten feet long, on level ground, against a male lion in his prime, I'd put my bread on the lion. For several reasons. The croc is at a disadvantage out of water. Dry land is not his natural habitat. The crocs legs are not meant to give him dry-land agility. Too short and too weak. And the croc has only one real weapon - his teeth. His tail can be used to maybe swipe at the lion, but it's meant for swimming, not fighting. The lion is quicker and has better vision. He'll attack from the hindquarter and jump on the croc's back. One chomp at he back of his head and we're all having fresh croc for lunch. And yes, the lion's teeth are big enough, and his jaws powerful enough, to go right through the heaviest part of the croc's armor. The most important consideration, however, is that the croc is cold-blooded and the lion is warm-blooded. The croc can only stay in the fight for three or four minutes and his energy level drops way down. The lion is good for at least twenty minutes of heavy combat. That's probably the best arguement in favor of the lion. Now, if they're both in the water, it's the complete reverse. It's croc winning 9 out of 10 encounters. And in the 10th, the lion's probably gonna be wounded enough so that he can't hunt and will starve. In the muddy water the croc is king. He cruises like a German u-boat, just below the surface. Attacks from ambush. The only two beasties the croc will avoid are hippos and elephants. Elephants have more than once picked up a large croc and hurled him fifty feet into the trees. And hippos are notoriously evil-tempered. They just bite the croc in half, even the 15-footers. Hippos are so hyper they'll whirl around and charge at the sound of their own dropping dung. And they move really quick.

I have seen crocs go up on land and steal prey from lions. Though this is rare because they try to avoid one another. I have also seen a pride of lions fend off a croc. I think that really the bigger the pride the more effect they will have against the crocs.
When you say neutral ground that isn't really fair to either of these species. I say this because, croc is a water goer and lions are land goers. If a lion goes one on one with a croc in the water the lion is doomed! Even on land a single lion would be lost against a croc. Crocs. have tough skin like armour and it would be difficult for a lion to pierce the skin of a croc during a fight provided the croc is large enough.
I would put my money on the croc.

well if the croc and lion were fighting theyd actually be on land near the water, the croc grabs prey and gradually pulls it into the water so the lion would either be drowned or beat to death as the croc slams it around. now lions could take small crocs or baby crocs and kill with no problem but the big daddy crocs are tough ones.

first of all, the two have very close territories, yet they for the main area do not overlap, different than in an extremely small area of Australia and probably The Philippines. Even then, crocs spend maximum of their time in estuaries, that's in simple terms too shallow for the super White, for the reason that in the event that they stop swimming they suffocate and die, and that i doubt estuaries are salty adequate for them to swim in them for an prolonged quantity of time. yet enable's assume the crocodile is out for a walk in open ocean for some weird and wonderful reason. The shark has not common pores and skin that makes it not common for the croc's the teeth to grip onto. it is likewise heavier, which provides it an ingredient in organising a chunk, so it could be greater waiting to chunk and worry the croc, that may not take a exceptional form of punishment. as quickly because it latches onto the croc's physique, it realizes that the crocodile is a few distance too lean for its tastes, then swims away, mutually as the crocodile strikes lower back to the estuary the place the shark can not carry on with. No animal will willingly bypass right into a combat it thinks it could lose if there isn't any food in contact. that's in simple terms stupid. nevertheless, if the shark gets in a fortunate strike and kills it, it might probable nevertheless consume a minimum of the various maintains to be.

A crocodile would win. Crocs have very tough exteriors, the only vulnerable spots are the eyes and the stomach. Since a lion tends to go for the neck of a "prey", it would be impossible for it to flip the croc. Plus if you watch animal planet, I think they had an episode of who would win, it was the Crocodile.

if you are talking about fully grown lion and fully grown croc, the croc will always win. land or water.
30 ft croc versus possibly 8 ft lion? no contest.
and crocs can run at least 15 miles per hour.
anyway the fight would never happen as lions will run every time.
it's a fact jack.
a whole pride of lions won't even confront one.

Neutral ground would have to be in zero-gravity in SPACE. That way the croc can swim around, as if it's in water, but the LION can still breathe.
The LION would win because it would crash the spaceship into the MOON.
